It places health in the context of our relationship to the ecosystem of the planet. This course is suitable for anyone wanting an introduction to global and planetary health. It will be particularly useful for healthcare professionals as it meets the recommendations of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC) for what healthcare professionals need to know about global health. This course has been written and will be facilitated by Dr John Acres and Dr Rachel Locke. Dr Acres coordinates the Wessex Global Health Network and is a Visiting Fellow in the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing's Centre for Global Health. Dr Rachel Locke is a Senior Lecturer in International Development: Global Health in the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing and a convenor of the University's Centre for Global Health.
